Student Badges

Kingsfield Elementary Student ID Badge Policies

Kingsfield Elementary School has begun using a school-wide identification (ID) badge system for our students!

Initially the purpose of badge usage was to begin implementation of a more touchless environment in the COVID age.  Since the initial deployment of badges, we’ve discovered their usage is extremely beneficial!

A visual ID system adds an additional safety measure for our staff and students as students wearing their ID may be quickly identified by any staff member to ensure students are in appropriate areas at the correct times.  It also aids in identifying destinations of students in transition in the event of an emergency.  We want to provide a safe and orderly environment to foster student learning and the ID badges will assist in the security of everyone on campus.

Wearing IDs also helps our students prepare for the world after elementary school where most middle and high school students are required to wear identification.

IDs provide the school with an efficient and touchless way to manage our library checkout system and cafeteria food service line. In addition, we continually look for new and innovative ways to implement badge usage into daily student life.

Finally, besides enhancing school safety, badges can create a feeling of unity among students.

  1. Each student will be issued an ID card at the beginning of the school year, or upon enrollment of Kingsfield Elementary.  IDs have already been issued for this school year.

  2. Students must wear their badge at all times while in the building.

  3. The IDs may not be changed or altered in any way.

  4. The first ID and one (1) replacement per school year are free since IDs are required.

  5. The cost of additional replacement IDs or portrait changes is $5.00.

  6. All replacement requests must be made by a teacher in the form of a help desk ticket to our IT support in order to keep up with the number of replacements.

  7. Parent requests for replacement badges for their student must be submitted to the teacher to adhere to the above policy.
